OH MY! Just yesterday the Word of Wayne proposed that President Trump might purposely incite conflict with Iran to divert attention to his upcoming Impeachment trials. See “Wagging the Dogs of War”. Today, just one day later, we get news that his diversionary strategy may have just begun in earnest.
Early today (Jan. 3 2020) an American MQ-9 Reaper drone operating under President Trump’s orders fired missiles at a convoy as it was leaving Baghdad’s international airport. General Suleimani (the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force) was killed along with several officials from Iraqi militias backed by Tehran.
Trump’s decision to kill General Suleimani was one that former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama had rejected fearing it would lead to war. But perhaps, as opined in my blog posted just yesterday, war is what Trump is looking for? Is this the beginning of his diversionary plan for war against Iran? After all, retaliation is sure to follow and a possible escalation into an all out war, just became more probable.
Has President trump just signed the death warrants of countless military men and woman and innocent civilians alike in a self-centered attempt to divert attention from his leadership woes at home? Other Presidents have been accused of doing so and surely this tactic is not beyond him?
What Do You Think?
